New NIH Resource Spotlight
The NIH Lab Managers Working Group have developed a new NIH-wide database of cold storage units for use in case of unexpected failures. The database includes 4°C, -20°C, -80°C, and LN2 storage units belonging to NIH researchers. The database and the user guidelines for Emergency cold storage are now available via CREx.

NHLBI Core Highlight Series: Murine Phenotyping Core

The NHLBI Office of the Scientific Director is hosting a Core Highlight Series to showcase each of the NHLBI Core Facilities. The focus of this meeting is the Murine Phenotyping Core. Dr. Danielle Springer is the Director of the NHLBI Murine Phenotyping Core, which carries out physiologic and behavioral testing in a diversity of mouse models for NHLBI and other NIH Institutes.
BTEP: Fundamentals of Mass Spectrometry Based Proteomics and Applications for Quantitation

The NCI Bioinformatics Training and Education Program (BTEP) is hosting a workshop on how quantitation is performed in mass spectrometry-based experiments. The workshop will have two speakers. Ronald Holewinski, PhD is a proteomics expert with the CCR Protein Characterization Laboratory. Lisa Jenkins, PhD is a Senior Associate Scientist and Head of the CCR Mass Spectrometry Resource.
