Description
Goals of the workshop are:
1) Explore challenges and opportunities in utilizing animal models for cancer prevention research.
2) Identify pitfalls in currently available cancer prevention animal models and explore strategies to fill the gaps.
3) Highlight new and emerging trends in model development, characterization and optimization for cancer prevention research
4) Foster exchange of ideas and potentially new collaborative interactions among leading cancer researchers from the basic and translational research areas.
5) Identify and propose means to address unmet translational requirements/needs.

Description
This three-day international symposium is the fourth RAS community-wide meeting sponsored by the NCI RAS Initiative. The overarching goal of the NCI RAS Initiative is to mobilize the cancer research community to develop ways to understand and target cancers driven by mutant RAS in an open model of collaboration among government, academic, and industry researchers.
